A Ghanaian social entrepreneur has developed a game that helps people identify their talents and career path and work towards achieving them. Mr Daniel Edusei has created the KIZZO-SMART talent game which educates and entertains individuals while helping them to identify their God-given talents. Mr Edusei is the founder and the Executive Director of Life Is Skool Foundation, a nonprofit organization (NGO) that focuses on educational programmes (people with special needs), financial literacy and entrepreneurship, career counselling, and talent discovery, among others.
He recently came to the Graphic online studio to demonstrate to some staff members how the game is played.
Demonstration:
The game can be played by both children and adults. It is played by about five people at a time on a table and a stand. Members are made to pick a sack which contains most of the professions in the world. An individual tosses a dice and picks from any of the sacks and explains whether the profession he or she picked is a passion, talent, flair, interest, or a hobby. In the end, each person is made to explain why he or she chooses certain professions as either a talent, flair or passion and the reason for his or her choice– that tells the professional path of the individual. Mr Edusei is a talent consultant and is also able to tell people their character traits and relationship with others through the choice they made while playing the game.
Reason for the game:
According to him, “the game was borne out of the desire to help individuals unearth their innate, inclinations and skill set to nurture them into a productive career path. The very essence of the KIZZO game is brought to light in these contemporary times especially when individuals are continually in the quest for meaning as well as a direction in life.”
He explained: “The game is educative, fun and entertaining. Unlike ordinary games designed for mere recreation, it is engineered to add another dimension to the concept of recreation.”
He said the game is now available online on Google Play Store and iOS version (APPS Store) and entreated parents to get some for their children to help them identify their talents.
